Over the past couple of years both brands have been working closely together, and have now decided it is better to completely combine resources under the Kids Art Works name. We would rather create a better fundraising system, than compete with each other in the small New Zealand market.
We feel ‘Kids Art Works’ is a more suitable name for what we do. Abacus Fundraising Calendars began trading in Tauranga in 1991 out of a small copy-photo shop bearing the Abacus name. So the origins of calling the business ‘Abacus’ had nothing to do how the business served its clients, it was a convenience for the person answering the phone. Kids Art Works was named intently, and we feel remains more appropriate. Over the past 27 years there have been many changes at Abacus, some good, some questionable, but all in all, the focus has been on trying to create a more effective fundraising service for schools and early childhood educators – celebrating the art of children. It is with this intent that we have merged into Kids Art Works.
Other than the name and logo… the main change is we will be changing our Notepad to a Sketchpad. All other changes coming in 2018 were planned for both brands based on events over the 2016/17 Calendar Art seasons and will be clearly outlined in your Starter Packs once you Register. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Mark, Owen and Sarah are still answering the phones and are looking forward to working with you this year :-)
We thank you for your support of Abacus Fundraising over the past 27 years, and look forward to continuing to serve you as Kids Art Works, and wish you a successful 2018.
